The Thread Room Sewing Classes
Our very popular sewing classes for future fashion designers are held on Saturdays (Ages 8+). Learn to sew in a fun and relaxed environment. These sewing classes start right from the beginning, from learning hand stitching through to working a sewing machine.
Students will develop the skills needed to work on small sewing projects which will include lots of practical application of Mathematics. Sewing is an important life skill and is the vehicle to teach self-confidence through skill-building. Sewing helps you to develop fine motor skills, improves your focus and concentration and teaches the importance of patience and self-control. It also develops and promotes:
- Hand-Eye Coordination
- Emotional Wellbeing
- Social Life Improvement
- Environmental Impact
- Creativity
- Self Esteem
During the sessions, students will complete sewing projects such as scrunchies, tote bags, soft toys, pencil cases, skirts and more.
