Meet the new tutors 2025

We’re excited to introduce five outstanding new tutors who have recently joined the Zest Education Centre team!
Each brings a unique set of skills, expertise, and a passion for helping students excel. Together, they offer a diverse range of subjects and a commitment to personalised learning, ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed. Meet Alex, Lachlan, Millen, Shreya, and Soshi—our newest tutors ready to help your child thrive.
Meet Alex…
Alex specializes in NCEA Maths and Physics and is passionate about making complex concepts accessible for his students. A former student of Takapuna Grammar School, he is currently studying for a B(Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Auckland. With a strong interest in power electronics, power systems, and electromagnetics, Alex hopes to work in the power utilities industry after graduation. Outside of tutoring, you’ll find Alex surfing, ocean swimming, or enjoying a run or bush walk. He also loves playing guitar and shooting hoops at the local basketball court.
Meet Lachlan…
Lachlan specialises in Economics, Maths, and English, bringing a deep passion for understanding how economies work. A former student at Auckland Grammar School, he is now studying Economics and Finance at the University of Auckland. Outside of tutoring at Zest, Lachlan enjoys spending time with friends and reading. His enthusiasm for learning and helping others makes him a great mentor for students looking to excel in these subjects.
Meet Millen…
Millen focuses on Physics, Calculus, Chemistry, English, and Economics, bringing a well-rounded approach to tutoring. A former student at Westlake Boys High School, he is now pursuing a Bachelors of Engineering (Honours) at the University of Auckland. Outside of his studies and tutoring at Zest, Millen stays active through volunteering in his local community, playing football, and lifting weights. His broad academic knowledge and passion for helping others make him an excellent mentor for students across multiple subjects.
Meet Shreya…
Shreya tutors in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, and English, offering a versatile and thoughtful approach to learning. A former student at Avondale College, she’s now in her third year as a conjoint student at the University of Auckland, studying Biomedical Engineering and Science. Shreya has a strong passion for community involvement, volunteering at the Auckland Museum and serving as the treasurer for the Sustainable Futures Collective. Outside of tutoring, she enjoys hiking, skiing, and swimming—always finding time to balance her academic and personal passions.
Meet Soshi…
Soshi specializes in Mathematics, Accounting, and Japanese, offering a unique perspective as a former student at Zest. Now studying Law and Commerce at the University of Auckland, Soshi understands the pressures of a competitive schooling system and is passionate about supporting students through those challenges. With three years of tutoring experience, he is dedicated to helping students succeed and celebrating their individual progress. Outside of tutoring, Soshi loves exploring Auckland’s scenic walks and views, while also supporting various charities through volunteering.
